Professional Summary
Jody Cash is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW). Jody hold's a Master in Social Work from the Advanced Clinical Program at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Prior to that she obtained a Law Degree (J.D.) from the Chicago-Kent College of Law. Jody completed training in the ED of a level one trauma center with patients in mental health and emotional crisis situations. She also worked with general patients in the hospital setting, exhibiting a variety of mental health challenges including: anxiety, depression, adjustment issues and interpersonal relationship challenges.
The population Jody works with is adolescents and adults seeking support with anxiety, depression, life transitions such as divorce, self-esteem and relationship issues, chronic illness, and adjustment issues. She uses a variety of evidence-based modalities tailored to the individual and what they are seeking from therapy. These include: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Humanistic and Person-Centered Therapy, and Strength-based Therapy. Jody views therapy as a collaboration between the client and the therapist, where we work as a team to uncover unhelpful patterns and behaviors and set goals for change. She believes we all have deep inner wells of strength to draw from and sometimes just need some guidance to use that to build the life we want.
Often we feel that we should be able to cope with life’s challenges on our own, but many times we need support and practice to build skills to move forward. Reaching out to seek help to gain those skills is a brave and positive step. Jody is here to walk that journey with you to achieve the satisfaction and fulfillment that you deserve.
