Sarah is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She completed her Masters in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, in 2023. During her training she worked with adolescents and adults in an outpatient setting. After completing her master's degree, she spent the first year of her career working at an inpatient psychiatric hospital for children and adolescents. During this time she worked with children and adolescents ages 5-18. She is now looking forward to transitioning back to an outpatient setting working with individuals of all ages.
Sarah utilizes a person-centered approach to therapy at the center of her, focusing on each client's strengths and positive attributes to help them improve and grow. Sarah also uses CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) to identify and address problematic thoughts, behaviors and ideas that may be a hindrance to their success. She works with all ages and uses developmentally appropriate activities and interventions for children and adolescents. She has experience working with clients with depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (Levels 1 and 2), anxiety, personality disorders, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and trauma. Sarah also biopsychosocial factors to determine additional factors that may be affecting a client.
